Application: Hydraulic Brake & Clutch Fluid

The condition of the brake fluid in your Jaguar's hydraulic braking circuit is vital to the operation of the brakes, and the safety of the occupants and other road users. The hydraulic brake fluid transfers the input energy applied to the footbrake to the brake pads at each wheel to slow down and stop your Jaguar as required. Over time, brake fluid will absorb moisture from the atmosphere, with two negative effects. Firstly it can cause corrosion within the braking system. Secondly, if the brake fluid gets hot, for example after some heavy braking, it is possible for the brake fluid to boil. If you notice a softer feel to the brake pedal, this could be the issue. Keep your brake fluid level topped up to the correct level as indicated on the reservoir. As part of your annual service, the boiling point of your Jaguar's Brake Fluid should be tested, flushed and replaced according to the interval specified in Jaguar's Service Schedule.
