Your Jaguar's Ignition is controlled by a Distributor, which supplies the electrical current to the Spark Plugs via the HT Ignition Leads. On the top of the Distributor is the Distributor Cap, which the HT Leads fit on to. Inside the Distributor Cap is a Rotor Arm that is driven mechanically by the rotation of the engine. Inside the Distributor Cap are little contacts that can wear or corrode over time. If your Jaguar is misfiring or is difficult to start, have your Jaguar checked over by a competent person who can investigate any faults, and repair or replace any parts as required to bring your Jaguar back to good health.
