If the brake pedal switch on your Jaguar has failed, symptoms will include: The gear select won't move, despite you having the brake pedal depressed, your cruise control won't cancel when you touch your brake pedal, and your engine won't crank at all when you try to start your Jaguar. Of course the most obvious and clear symptom will be that when you press the brake pedal in your Jaguar, the rear brake lights fail to illuminate, which is a serious hazard in moving traffic.
