The Oil Pump in your Jaguar is a vital component that forces the engine oil from the sump up and around the engine to lubricate all the moving parts. If your Oil Pump Seal is compromised, or the Oil Pump itself has become damaged, your Jaguar will lose oil pressure, and illuminate the Oil Pressure warning Light. If this light comes on, as soon as it is safe to do so, you must stop your Jaguar and turn off the engine. Have your Jaguar recovered to a competent person who can investigate the issue. Continuing to drive your Jaguar with low oil pressure will cause extensive damage in very short order, possibly resulting in the need for an engine replacement.
