The Window Regulator is a device that sits within the door, and holds the window glass in place, allowing free movement of the window when required to open and close. With a scissor action, or through a system of cables and pulleys, the glass moves up and down the channels as required, and is operated either manually by a hand crank in the door panel, or by an electric motor. As with all moving parts, they can wear out over time. If a window in your Jaguar fails to operate as it should, or if you hear a notchy or crunching sound from within the door while operating the window, have your Jaguar inspected by a competent person who can diagnose the issue.
