Gas Strut Stays are the struts that locate on the bonnet and boot lid of your Jaguar. They resist the weight of the bonnet and boot lid, assisting in smooth operation while opening and closing, and exert enough pressure to hold them open when required. These struts are a simple DIY replacement, and if your bonnet or boot lid drops because your Jaguar's Gas Struts have lost pressure over time, consider replacing them before you find the corner of the boot lid with your head because it is 6 inches lower than where you left it! Gas Struts should be replaced in pairs if they are fitted in pairs.
