The Oil Filter collects harmful deposits from the oil as it passes through the oil system. The Oil filter on its own is an inexpensive part, yet regular replacement with good quality oil is the single most effective way to prolong the life of your Jaguar's engine. If your driving routine consists of short daily trips where the engine is rarely exposed to highway driving, careful consideration should be made to replacing your oil and filter more often than the Service Schedule advises.
