The Gearbox Insulator is part of the mounting system that keeps your gearbox firmly in place, while allowing the flexibility to move slightly and absorbing the vibrations from the drive train, meaning less vibrations are felt in the chassis. If your gearbox mount has failed, you might notice a knocking noise as you engage the gear, or let go of the throttle. On some cars, it can make selecting gears difficult in some situations, for example on a steep incline. If you hear any knocking noises from your engine bay area, always get it checked over by a competent person who can replace any worn parts as required.
