The Crankshaft Position Sensor works in with the Camshaft Position Sensor. The Engine Management system uses the data from these sensors to time the ignition and fuel injection. Symptoms of a failed Crankshaft Position Sensor in your Jaguar will include failing to start when the engine is warm, dying intermittently, or bringing on your Check Engine light. A faulty Crankshaft Position sensor will likely cause your Jaguar to run poorly and less efficiently, using more fuel and emitting more pollutants. Have your Jaguar inspected by a competent person any time your Check Engine Light comes on to diagnose the issue correctly, and check and test properly any devices that may require attention.
