The Coolant Temperature Sensors relay information to the Engine Management System, to trim the fuel to maintain the optimum performance and efficiency of your Jaguar's engine. If the Coolant Temperature Gauge is giving false readings, or if your Jaguar seems to take a long time to get warm, have the cooling system checked over by a competent person who can check and test the sensors and components in your Jaguar's cooling system. A faulty Coolant Temperature Sensor will make your Jaguar less economical in fuel consumption, and will not perform at its best.
